Confetteria e Museo Mucci Giovanni

Some of the sweetest, most curious itineraries of Apulia include the Andria Confectionery Museum. This sweet museum, recognised by the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities and Tourism as well as a member of the "Historical Places of Italy" has not only become a point of reference for the inhabitants of Andria, very much linked to the ancient traditions of the Mucci family, but also for Italian tourists and visitors from across the globe. The Confectionery Museum is housed in a beautiful Liberty style building, which was originally the confectionery factory and where its founder, Nicola Mucci, opened his first laboratory back in 1894. The museum is the result of patient, passionate research. It houses a wealth of history, knowledge and traditions, bringing together valuable documents, tools, equipment and industrial archaeology findings that are truly unique. In addition to recounting the history of confectionery, chocolate and sweet production, these also help tell the story of the Mucci family business, spanning more than a century spent guaranteeing the superior quality of their products in complete respect of the original recipes and top quality artisan confectionery. Specialised guides will take you on a discovery of the museum with a guided tour lasting about one hour. During the tour, a video can be seen showing the key points of the current production of confectionery and dragées. Tasters are also offered of some of Mucci's specialities, including their famous "Tenerelli" created using Toritto (BA) almonds and IGP Piedmont hazelnuts wrapped in a double layer of pure chocolate.
